Ryan Bingham is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and actor, born in 1981 in Hobbs, New Mexico, who grew up across the American Southwest. He rode bulls on the rodeo circuit as a teenager and learned to play on a guitar his mother gave him at 16, working his way from small bars and honky-tonks across the West to a deal with Lost Highway Records in 2007. After Mescalito (2007) and Roadhouse Sun (2009), he worked with producer T Bone Burnett on the soundtrack for the film Crazy Heart, co-writing and singing its theme, “The Weary Kind.” The song won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Grammy, and the Americana Music Association named him Artist of the Year in 2010. He later released albums on his own label, and from 2018 he played the ranch hand Walker on the TV series Yellowstone. In May 2026 he released They Call Us The Lucky Ones, recorded with the backing band The Texas Gentlemen. Ryan Bingham & The Texas Gentlemen open select July and August dates on Zach Bryan’s 2027 tour.
